Murder Most Foul at Lancing College! £6,000 raised for the Tollbridge |

THE OLD SHOREHAM TOLLBRIDGE COMMUNITY APPEAL TRUST The Shoreham Tollbridge is a historic and essential part of Old Shoreham, providing a safe means of access on foot or by cycle to Shoreham Airport and Lancing College without taking a risk on the A27 Shoreham-by-pass. As many of you will know, although West Sussex County Council are committed to assisting the renovation, it is still essential to continue to raise funds to ensure its' long term future. The work, costing overall a staggering £500,000, has now started to restore the footbridge to its former glory. Over £400,000 has so far been raised, but the Old Shoreham Tollbridge Community Trust has to raise a further £95,000 to complete the work. Lancing College graciously agreed to allow the College to be used for a Murder Mystery event, 115 people attended and a good time was had by all. A total of £6,000 was raised through either sponsorship, or through ticket sales and a raffle. This will be passed to the Tollbridge Restoration Trust Appeal to help defray the costs of restoration of this important bridge We would like to thank all of those without whom this event could not have taken place. Especially we would like to thank the Head Master from Lancing College and his staff for making the evening so enjoyable and the Shoreham COmmunity Centre and Marlipins Museum for helping sell the tickets. |
